From Syria to Valnerina, with a great dream in mind that, by divine grace, would have been realized in an infinitely greater way. Thus tells the legend of two hermits who saw their small oratory transform into the most important historical and artistic testimony of the area of Ferentillo. The church dedicated to St. Peter, a marvelous fusion of the Lombard and Romanesque style, preserves a cycle of frescoes among the most precious of Italian Romanesque painting and sarcophagi from the Roman era. The adjacent Benedictine monastery has instead become a charming period residence for those in search of relaxation and well-being.
