Crescionda is a characteristic sweet with very ancient origins. Evidence attesting to the existence of this tasty dessert date all the way back to the Middle Ages when people preferred dishes with a contrasting sweet & sour taste (the original recipe calls for ingredients such as: sheep’s milk cheese, eggs, hen broth, bread crumbs, lemon peel, sugar, dark or bitter chocolate). This freshly baked sweet is delicious yet delicate and can be stored in the refrigerator for 1 or 2 days at most.
