According to the tradition, women of marrying age should give this typical Perugia cake to their love interest on Easter day. Its shape appears to be inspired by Perugia’s Maggiore Fountain, the cake’s red and white colours represent the city’s colours. Finally the yellow, green and blue colours of the sprinkles respectively symbolize the wheat, the pastures and the water of Lake Trasimeno. Ciaramicola can be enjoyed throughout the year.
