Cresciole di Ciccioli or “Torta con i Ciccioli”, difficult to find, are made with the dough of torta al testo flatbread to which eggs, cheese, and small pieces of meat obtained as a residue from the melting of pork fat in order to obtain lard: these scraps of pork fat are also known as “sfrizzoli” or “scriccioli”. A similar bread can also be found in many other regions including Basilicata which has its own variation. Extremely pleasant taste.
