She is Elisa Squillace, MaterMisericordiae Arte, an Artisan Artist. Elisa, who grew up in Piedmont, returns to Umbria, a land she loves and where she was born, with a wealth of experience in the field of decoration and a work life as an illustrator of children’s books. The look is still that of the amazed girl, kidnapped by the landscape and art. Meet the changing colors of the countryside, the magical atmospheres of the medieval villages, the mystical silence of the sacred places. It is enchanted by frescos, in small villages, in churches, in places that are sometimes forgotten, beauty and art are everywhere. In the art galleries it is captured by the masters of the past, by the use of color, by the delicacy of the shapes with which sacred and symbolic themes tell life. In Umbria, art marries the landscape. How to reproduce this enchantment? Is it something that belongs to the past or can it be told even today? A research work is born that brings it “to the shop” from missing masters. It is not about reproducing their paintings, that has already been done, there would be no room for creativity. The challenge is to paint something new starting from the tools of those painters: a wooden board, an iconography, a landscape and their own vision.
Type of product: paintings on the table in the fifteenth century style
