Lo Scoglio Farm Foligno
Lo Soglio Farm in Foligno, named after the “Devil’s Rock”, is currently managed by the family’s younger generation. While its oil mill is located on the hills of S. Giovanni Profiamma in Foligno, its olive trees span over the rough and stony part of Mt. Subasio that, just beyond Spello, juts out from the ridge of the sculpted pink stone of Assisi. Here in the heart of the land of St. Francis there’s a rocky outcrop that, as the popular legend claims, was home to the Devil. The oil is cold extracted using a modern press that operates in a continuous production cycle to produce two different qualities of extra virgin olive oil: one from organically farmed trees and the Monocultivar Moraiolo single variety oil. Lo Scoglio farm in Foligno also produces a highly prized honey that the Greeks, rightly so, believed was the “food of the gods”.
