SPELLO UCCD OIL MILL
Not only will climbing up an olive tree bring you back to your youth, it is the only way you can “breathe in” its real soul. The name of this oil inevitably contains the word “Umbria”, the Dop extra virgin produced by the Spello Olive Mill – Cooperative Union of Independent Farmers.
Founded immediately following the war during a particularly difficult historic period, also as an act of solidarity, the Spello cooperative was one of the first associations to be formed in Umbria.
Today, over 500 members belong to this agricultural cooperative that cultivates approximately 130 thousand olive trees in the municipality of Spello and surrounding area, on the slopes of Mount Subasio.
The young and “children at heart” are the ones who have passionately continued this historic project. They have even created a “children’s oil”, made with the olives harvested by the territory’s new generations.
