Del Quondam Farm – Giano dell’Umbria
The family-run Del Quondam farm is a place where you purchuase products or spend a holiday immersed in nature and simplicity, and even bring your pets along for the fun! From the farmhouse inn, consisting of a main house and an adjacent outbuilding, to the swimming pool immersed in an olive grove, you can catch a glimpse of the tiny medieval village of Montecchio and the surrounding green hills. The entire family works on the farm: Victor oversees the crops and the livestock, mainly the Chianina breed of cattle, while his wife Donatella, who manages the restaurant and takes care of guests staying at the inn, has a passion for interior decorating. To make the guests’ stay even more pleasant, she decorates the rooms in different ways based on the current holiday and season. The younger members of the family also plays an important role by promoting the structure through the use of the latest technologies. As you approach the farm you will sense the warmth of tradition, family and simplicity in the air. You will find a quaint restaurant serving dishes made with the farm’s products along with a grocery store and butcher shop where you can purchase meat, olive oil, wine, honey, and sheep’s milk cheese from the farm. Finally, there are plenty of opportunities to experience what farm life is really like by picking olives, harvesting grapes and shearing sheep.
