Speranza’s oil mill is located on the hills of Giano dell ‘Umbria, a small, remote village on the slopes of the Martani mountains, at 546m above sea level, a traditionally privileged area for the cultivation of olive trees.
The company was founded in 1952 from the passion for the land of the ancestors of the Speranza family. The olive trees of the property are located on gentle slopes, where the favorable pedo-climatic conditions, the right exposure, combined with the nature of the soil, create the ideal microclimate for their cultivation.
The company produces high quality EVO oil, and has been producing an award-winning and excellent monocultivar, the San Felice, deriving from the milling of only San Felice olives, a native variety of this land, which takes its name from the nearby Benedictine abbey of San Felice.
The company is still a family-run business and for this reason the various stages, from cultivation to harvesting and from extraction to cultivation, are carried out with the utmost care, in order to guarantee a product of the highest quality. Their EVO oil is characterized by a low acidity rate, a high content of polyphenols, a green color and a spicy aftertaste, peculiarities that make it recognized among the best in the world. A natural product which due to its organoleptic properties is a real functional food for the well-being of the organism.
During the period of October and November, groups are welcomed in the mill where they can live the experience of olive process and join tasting schools with Federica, an expert taster.
