Montegabbione, one of many villages in the area of untouched landscape, besides an immense historical and cultural thickness. With something extra than the others: a presence that can enchant, a display of architectural imagination and ideal depth without equal. It’s the carzuola, an ancient monastery on the top of a hill – founded in 1218 by St. Francis, who here created a water source that still exists – and where is a fresco of the first half of the thirteenth century, one of the first portraits of the Saint levitation.
