ORVIETO – FRANTOIO CECCI
Cecci oil mill is located near Orvieto, its history has been going on for four generations, given the recent birth of Carlotta, from which the last e.v.o. Bio product took name. The Cecci family produces high quality extra virgin olive oil thanks to the modern continuous cycle oil mill located in Allerona. Despite the technological investment, the Cecci family has a strong bond with tradition, in fact, in the castle of Monterubiaglio, an ancient traditional press crusher is still active, which remains open for only three weeks a year to show the milling as it once was.
In the ancient castle oil mill there is an oil cellar / tasting room where lunches and tastings are organized throughout the year. A particularity of the production of the Cecci mill are the monovarietal oils of the frantoio, leccino and moraiolo cultivars, obtained with a precision agricultural system, started with the census of the olive trees in the olive groves owned, which has identified the different varieties present, which today allows to obtain a production that enhances the characteristics of each cultivar, thanks to the gradual harvesting and milling, according to the degree of ripeness of the different olives.
