Gualdo Tadino the land of springs and majolica
Gualdo Tadino, a land characterized by a remarkable naturalistic and environmental heritage, is rich in history, art, traditions food and wine culture. The city is immersed in an area where the abundance of water, the healthy air and the wealth of flora and fauna harmoniously accompany each other in the various landscape views.
The territory is precious, it is rich in springs of very fresh waters, the most famous, for the homonymous mineral water, is the Rocchetta spring; the others, immersed in uncontaminated nature are the Santo Marzio, Capodacqua, Vaccara and Palazzo Mancinelli springs.

Gualdo Tadino is known throughout the world for the particular production of majolica which has its roots in ancient times and it’s characterized by the iridescent colors of gold and ruby, obtained through the famous “luster” or “reverberation” technique. Today in Gualdo Tadino, in addition to the craftsmen workshops dedicated to the production and sale of luster majolica, ceramics with mainly industrial characteristics are produced, with a significant production of floor and wall tiles as well as furnishings and terracotta artefacts.
As evidence The Casa Cajani Ceramics Museum inside the Rocca Flea aims to exhibit and enhance the city’s heritage: the civic collection of ceramics, coming from the public, from acquisitions and donations.
A variety of olive trees characterizing this area is the Nostrale di Rigali, originating from the homonymous hamlet of Gualdo Tadino, close to the Umbria-Marche Apennines; it is a typical “cultivar” and present only in this area; it is a particularly vigorous plant, known for its high resistance to cold.
