“Not only Sagrantino, but with Sagrantino”. This is the motto of the Virili family from Montefalco that runs the smallest winery in Umbria with meticulous and almost religious attention, that produces only this highly prestigious wine in the Passito (sweet) and Secco (dry) version. What makes Sagrantino wine so unique is the cherished culture behind it and the local people’s efforts to promote everything surrounding the vines, such as the landscape, art, history, flavours, information and know-how. Including the “bright” idea to pair Sagrantino wine with dark chocolate to create little delicacies such as “Rubino” and “Granato” chocolates and other delicious sweets.
